Driving from the Welsh Marches to Somerset the A466 Monmouth to Chepstow road is a pleasant run and offers a break at Tintern Abbey.
Apart from the abbey, there is a souvenir shop with a tearoom/cafe which offers some very good lunch time meals and there’s a pub across the road.
